According to Lord Shiva's teachings and the philosophy found in Shaivism, all events and relationships in life are governed by the cosmic law of karma and the divine will. In essence, Lord Shiva allows or "sends" people into our lives as instruments for our transformation, to help us shed attachments, learn compassion, and ultimately realize our own divine nature.
