In Lord Shiva’s philosophy and iconography, the third eye, also known as the "Trinetra" or "Divya Chakshu," represents spiritual wisdom, inner vision, and the ability to see beyond the physical world. It symbolizes Shiva’s power to destroy evil and ignorance. According to the teachings, when Shiva opens his third eye, it burns away illusion (maya), desires (kama), and impurities, bringing about transformation and renewal.The third eye is also associated with heightened perception, intuition, and enlightenment. It reminds devotees to look beyond outward appearances and cultivate inner awareness, detachment, and spiritual insight, as exemplified by Lord Shiva himself.
