In the teachings and philosophy surrounding Lord Shiva, it is understood that the divine presence (Shiva Tattva) resides within every living being. Lord Shiva is often described as the "Antaryami"—the inner witness or indwelling presence. However, this does not mean that God literally speaks for 24 hours like a human being.
Instead, Lord Shiva's guidance is experienced as an inner voice of conscience, intuition, or wisdom that arises within us, especially when we are calm, meditative, and open. Through practices such as meditation (dhyana), chanting (japa), and self-inquiry (atma-vichara), one can become more attuned to this divine presence and receive subtle guidance.
Lord Shiva teaches through silence (mauna), presence, and the transformation of consciousness rather than constant verbal communication. In fact, one of his greatest teachings is the power of silence, as represented by Dakshinamurthy, the silent teacher form of Shiva.
So, while Shiva's divine presence is always within us, it is not in the form of endless human-like speech, but as an eternal witness and source of inner wisdom that can be accessed through devotion, meditation, and self-awareness.
