Rudra Samhita
The Rudra Samhita is one of the most significant sections of the Shiva Purana, providing a comprehensive account of the life and exploits of Lord Shiva and his divine family.
The mantra "Om Eim Hreem Shreem Shivaya Namah" is not a traditional Vedic mantra but a Tantric composite mantra, rich in spiritual potency. It combines four seed (bija) mantras — Om, Eim, Hreem, and Shreem — each representing a specific divine power, followed by Shivaya Namah, saluting Lord Shiva.
It is used in advanced Shakti and Shiva sadhana, often by practitioners of Kundalini Yoga, Tantra, and Mantra Yoga, to align with both the creative (Shakti) and liberating (Shiva) aspects of consciousness.
➡️ Word-by-Word Meaning:
Om (ॐ): The universal sound; the vibration of absolute consciousness (Brahman).
Eim (ऐं): The bija mantra of Saraswati, goddess of wisdom, learning, and speech.
Hreem (ह्रीं): The bija mantra of Divine Power (Mahashakti); represents energy, protection, and transformation.
Shreem (श्रीं): The bija of Lakshmi, goddess of abundance, wealth, and prosperity.
Shivaya (शिवाय): To Lord Shiva, the Supreme Consciousness, destroyer of ignorance.
Namah (नमः): I bow down; salutations.
