Vidyesvara Samhita
The Vidyesvara Samhita primarily focuses on the creation of the universe and the supreme greatness of Lord Shiva. It elucidates the metaphysical concepts, cosmology, and the various aspects of Shiva worship.
Sanskrit:
“सर्व मङ्गल माङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थ साधिके।
शरण्ये त्रयम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते॥”
Explanation:
“सर्व मङ्गल माङ्गल्ये”: To the one who is the auspiciousness of all auspiciousness. This part praises God Shiva as the embodiment of all that is auspicious and beneficial.
“शिवे”: To Shiva. This refers to God Shiva, the auspicious and benevolent deity.
“सर्वार्थ साधिके”: Who fulfills all desires and objectives. This praises God Shiva as the one who grants all wishes and accomplishes all purposes.
“शरण्ये त्रयम्बके”: O Goddess Trayambake (another name for Shiva's consort, Parvati), I take refuge in you. This acknowledges Goddess Parvati as the compassionate motherly figure and protector.
“गौरि नारायणि”: Gauri (another name for Parvati), who is Narayani (the eternal consort of Narayana, Lord Vishnu). This emphasizes Parvati's divine nature and connection with Vishnu.
“नमोऽस्तु ते”: Salutations to you. This concludes the mantra with a respectful invocation.
Significance:
The mantra is often recited to seek the blessings of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati for auspiciousness, fulfillment of desires, and protection from all evils. It is believed to bring harmony, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment to the devotee's life.
