Kailashapada Samhita
This part describes the different sacred places associated with Shiva worship.
Sanskrit:
“ॐ नमः शिवाय श्रीमहादेवाय नमः।
ज्योतिर्लिंग के दर्शन से बढ़ सकती है आपकी मनोकामना।”
Meaning:
“ॐ नमः शिवाय”: Om, I bow to Lord Shiva.
“श्रीमहादेवाय नमः”: Salutations to the great Lord Mahadeva.
Explanation:
The mantra begins with the universal sound 'Om', acknowledging the divine presence and power of Lord Shiva. 'Namah Shivaya' is a reverential salutation expressing devotion and surrender to Shiva. By chanting this mantra, devotees seek the blessings and grace of Lord Shiva, particularly through the sacred Jyotirlingas, which are manifestations of his divine light (Jyoti) across India. These twelve Jyotirlingas are believed to have great spiritual significance and are revered pilgrimage sites where devotees believe their desires can be fulfilled and sins absolved through devotion and prayer.
Each Jyotirlinga has its unique history and significance, making pilgrimage to these shrines a deeply enriching spiritual experience for devotees of Lord Shiva.
