Meaning :
Lavthavti Vikrala, adorned with cosmic garlands

With poison in his throat, the dark one with three fiery eyes.

Gracefully beautiful, with a young one on his head

From there, pure water flows in streams.

Hail Lord, Hail Lord, Hail to Shri Shankara

I perform your aarti, O Karpuragoura (white as camphor).

Karpuragoura, innocent with wide eyes

With Parvati as his consort, adorned with garlands of flowers.

Sprinkling sacred ash, with a blue neck

Such a Shankara, pleasing to Uma, appears.

The gods and demons churned the ocean

From it arose unexpected poison.

You, bravely, consumed it

Thus, you became renowned as Neelkanth (the blue-necked one).

Wearing tiger skin, bearer of serpents, beautiful destroyer of Kamadeva

Beloved of sages, charming to the mind, source of happiness to ascetics.

Source of infinite energy, as declared by countless voices

Ramdas, the jewel of the Raghu dynasty, holds you in his heart.
